The Meeting House is one of those places where you can show up any summer weekend alone and by the end of the evening have seen every single one of your friends including your long lost high school BFF. It's a ridiculously popular spot for the Amagansett-Montauk 20-30 somethings (especially in the summer) and a great American bistro with a nice selection of wines and consistently good food. Some of the crowd favorites include a generously portioned chicken milanese, seared scallops with polenta squares, mac and cheese and my personal must have, sphaghetti bolognese.
These classic American dishes sit comfortably next to Asian fusion dishes like thai curry mussels and asian rice noodle salad. For dessert, try the banana pudding...it's smooth and silky and the perfect size after an inevitably large multi-course meal. And if you're there during the summer months, try an Aperol Spritzer, an ice filled glass of Aperol topped with prosecco and club soda. Then after a nice long meal with the 10-12 friends you didn't show up with but ended up running into, you can hop across the street to
Stephen Talkhouse for some live music and work off your food coma with the rest of the Hamptons crowd.
